American Retro, created by brothers David and Gregory Pariente launched its début collection in Paris, September 2002. The collections radiant energy, colourful pallet, and young spirit would prove itself as an influential new label in the industry. Their recent notoriety came from Elle magazines February 2005 issue, which proclaims the founders of the brand as “prodigy children of fashion.”
American Retro’s motivation is to uncover and invent new ways to enhance personal style. The design office, directed by Laure Pariente, has grown season after season and has successfully defined the identity of American Retro.
The design team focuses their work on finding essential ingredients to personalize the collection with the sentiments of “hand made work” and fabric quality. Intricate embroidery, crochet knits, retro inspired prints, and specialty cashmeres have become recurring characteristics of the brand.
With already four boutiques, American Retro is rapidly becoming a known mark throughout Paris. The brand accounts for 500 different points of sale around the world and has moved to the designer department of major stores like; Le Bon Marché, Galeries Lafayette Hausmann, Shine, House of Fraser in Harrods, Henri Bendel, and Kitson, a favorite among those in L.A…..
American Retro wants to stay in a position between creativity and accessibility. The brand continues push forward internationally and has even developed the line for children, men, and accessories. |
